Well today was at SCGS and was amazed! The girls there were amazing active, fun, nice and well behaved LOLz. Compared to queenstown oOo no heaven and hell whahah. Well there were good ones in qtss too so dun worry.
Anyway today I'm gonna tell a story so here it goes...
Once upon a time, in the land of Argos there lived a King, his name was Acrycius and he had a beautiful daughter named Danae.
One day, King Acrycius was curious about what his future holds for him and so, he travelled to the land of Denver to find a prophet to prophesy his future. The prophecy turned out to be a bad one and it says "You Will Die At The Hands Of Your Own Grandson." Well upon hearing this, King Acrycius was slighty glad~ Why? Because he doesn't have a Grandson, Danae is not married. So, he had this brilliant plan that would prevent Danae from having a grandson but well too bad for poor Danae..
So, King Acrycius locks Danae up underground in the cells so that no man could come in contact with her and she would never get married. Poor Danae cried and cried day and night in the cell.
One day, Zeus(Hercules's father) the king of all kings sees through the castle walls and through the ground and sees poor Danae crying in the cell. So, Zeus falls in love with Danae and naughty naughty... after 9 months Danae has a baby boy named Perseus.
King Acrycius panics becuase half of the prophecy has come true! Danae has the grandson! So, he called his men and puts Danae and her baby into a chest and throws it into the sea hoping that the chest could drown and kill them. However, the chest floats and lands on another Kingdom. Which is the castle of King Polydectes.
King Polydectes was a Kind man he took them in and raise Perseus like the prince of the land. Perseus grows up into a fine young man. He's handsome, smart, courageous, tall and everything that a man could ever hope to be. However, King Polydectes starts to turn green. Why? Because Perseus is stealing all the attention away from the King and the King is jelous. So, King Polydectes wants to get rid of Perseus. Other than being jelous, actually King Polydectes also has a hidden agenda against Perseus... because he likes his mother Danae and Perseus being very protective of his mother would not let anyone get close to her. So, getting rid of Perseus would be brilliant because that way he could get back the attention for himself and also get Danae. But there is just one problem, he could not just kill Perseus because that way if he kills Perseus the people of the Kingdom would turn against him because they like Perseus and Danae will of course not marry a man who killed his son right?
King Polydectes then came up with a plan of coming up with a list of impossible task that could kill ANY man who attempts it. So, he came up with a list and post it in his Kingdom and every man in the Kingdom looks at the list, shakes their head and take a step back. Perseus was then curious why nobody dares to take up the task? So, Perseus being young, brave and probably naive Falls For the Trick and takes up the impossible task. So, he approached King Polydectes and told him " My King if nobody dares to take up the task I will." And King Polydectes probably with a few crocodile tears says "No, no Perseus you can Goooooo. But if you insist you may."
So, Perseus left for his Journey for the impossible task. Perseus being half man and half god was able to clear all the other task easily and then he cleared all the rest of the task easily but except for the last one.. Retrieve Medusa's head. Perseus had no slightest idea of where the three Gorgons lived(Medusa and her two sisters. Legend has it that any man who looked directky into Medusa's eye's will turn into stone) So, Perseus went to a local pub and asked around if anybody knows where to find the three gorgons. He asked around but everyone kept quiet~ Everyone was terrified of the three gorgons who in the world would want to look for them?
One day, an old man came through the crowd and approached Perseus and asked him " Are you the one looking for the three gorgons?" And then the old man goes on telling Perseus about the three young beautiful ladies that the old man knew a long time ago that knows of where the gorgons lived. So, knowing that Perseus sets of to find the three "Young beautiful ladies" Of course that was a long time ago so ... by now the three "young beautiful ladies" by now are three old ladies and their bodies are falling apart.. They had one teeth which they pass around to share in order to eat and they have one eye which they pass around in order to see. So, upon hearing the arrival of the young handsome prince Perseus. All the sisters wants to take a good look at him and were busy snatching the eyeball.. And so no one was able to tell Perseus where the gorgons Lived!! Because they were all busy snatching the eyeball!! So, Perseus snatched the eyeball away from the three ladies and said " Look of nobody's telling me where are the gorgons I will not give you back the eyeball." So, the three ladies told Perseus where the three gorgons lived and Perseus gave them back the eyeball and they all had a good look at Perseus and were happy. Perseus then sets of to find the gorgons.
Meanwhile, the gods from the heaven saw young Perseus going to find the three gorgons and knew young Perseus would not be able to survive this one. So, they decided to give Perseus a little magic help. They gave him a magic shield which was so shiny like a mirror that he could see his reflection. They gave him a purse which could expand and shrink back to the same size containing items of any size. They gave him magic wind sandals that enable him to fly. So, with all these magic items, Perseus then sets off to retrieve Medusa's head. He Hovers over the island and was able to see many stone statues, probably of young man who tried to kill Medusa but looked directly into her eyes. When Perseus landed, he navigate around looking at the reflection of the shield and lucky enough, when he found the gorgons they were asleep. So Perseus swings in, cuts Medusa's head off and place it into the magic purse and swings off before the other two gorgons were able to find out what happened. Then, Perseus heads back to King Polydectes's castle.
Upon hearing the news of Perseus return, King Polydectes was very angry because he knew there was no way any man could do all those task and come back alive! So, he thought that Perseus must have cut short his journey and did not do the things that he had asked him to do. So, he decides to embarrass Perseus and calls all his royalties, the noble ladies and men to the dining table and await Perseus arrival. Perseus came in and King Polydectes said to Perseus " Perseus! Have you done all the things that I have asked you to do?" Perseus replies "Yes, my King." King Polydectes then said the dummest thing of all in his life, he said "If you have done all that I have asked you to do then, Show~~~ Ussss~~." Perseus obeys, closed his eyes and took out the head of Medusa, and so all the noble ladies and men along with king Polydectes turned to stone.
Perseus then ran to look for his mother. When Perseus found his mother Danae, he asked " This Kindom is finished. Should we go back to find our Grandfather? I've never seen grandfather before." So, the mother agreed and so they set sail towards Argos.
King Acrycius(Perseus's Grandfather) upon receiving the news of his grandson exploits of doing the impossible tasks assume that Perseus has done all these incredible things and now is coming after him, that he is next on the list! So, he packs up and set sail to a far away island of nowhere to hide. Perseus, who was sailing towards Argos met with a storm and his ship was blown off course to an island in the middle of nowhere. Who would have known that now, both King Acrycius and Perseus are on the same island?
So, King Acrycius thinking that he is safe from his grandson was happy and organise a old greek form of Olympic games among the locals of the island. So, they were all happily enjoying themselves. The athletes saw Perseus and said "Wow, you must come join us." So, Perseus joins in and throws the discus, and it was Farrr~. Then they said "Do it again!" So, Perseus swings harder and throws even further. Then they said "Go for the Record!" This time Perseus swings real hard and flung the discus and the discus flew straight into the crowd and hits a man on the head and it instantly killed him. The man turned out to be King Acrycius. So, literally King Acrycius died at the hands of his own Grandson.
Teachings today: In every myth, there is always a scene of the hero leaving home. 2nd scene, he goes on a journey to complete the impossible task. 3rd scene, he returns home and everyone is proud of him and now he is worthy of marrying the princess.
Can a hero wake up from bed, fries and egg, eat it and goes back to sleep? This way will the princess even be impressed by him or even LooK at him? The answer is No. So, if a hero only have scene 1 and scene 3, does it make him a hero if he does not go and accomplish the impossible task? The answer is No. So, Hero must go on a journey, Leaving his comfort zone(Home) and conquer the impossible task and returns home and now he is worthy of marrying the princess!
But of course a Hero must also have magic items. Like the magic wind sandals and the resizable purse like Perseus did. But in real LIFE, what are the magic items that we are talking about???
I don't mean that in real Life they are any magic sword or shield because there is none. The magic items we are talking about in real Life is things like... LOVE, FAITH, TRUST, LOYALTY etc etc.
Just like in star wars Luke Skywalker's magic item was not the lightsaber. It was "The Force." Luke hears the voice in his head "Luke~~ Use the Force~" and then Luke goes. Okay? So, Luke Skywalker's magic item was not the lightsaber, but it was "The Force."
So, in Life all of us are on a journey to face the obstacles and then find ourselves or the true value of LOVE, FAITH, TRUST, LOYALTY etc etc. Only through facing hardships and difficulties can we attain a stage of maturity and grows up knowing what does it truly mean by Love, Faith, Trust, Loyalty etc etc.
